Crafting together (August) - making Spaghetti Bolognese

Vorige week zijn Jolinda en ik opnieuw aan de slag gegaan met Fimo. Jolinda ging aan de slag om aardappelen te maken, sommige geschild en anderen nog met de aarde eraan.
Zelf ging ik na de pizza van vorige keer verder met het Italiaanse thema en maakte Spaghetti Bolognese met de hulp van deze tutorial van AkameruKawaii.

Last week Jolinda and I started working with Fimo again. Jolinda set to work making potatoes, some peeled and others still soiled.
I myself continued with the Italian theme after last time's pizza and made Spaghetti Bolognese with the help of this tutorial by AkameruKawaii.

Nadat ik het terras geveegd had en alle stof van de berg geblazen had, heb ik een tafel gedekt en staat de pasta klaar voor twee hongerige gasten ;)

After I swept the terrace and blown all the dust off the mountain, I set a table for two. The pasta is ready for two hungry guests ;)

We vonden het opnieuw zo leuk om met polymeer klei te werken dat we volgende keer samen knoflookbollen willen maken.

Again we enjoyed working with polymer clay so much that next time we want to make garlic bulbs together :)

Crafting together (July) with Fimo

Afgelopen week hebben Jolinda en ik weer samen geknutseld. Jammer genoeg kan Connie niet meer mee doen, maar ook met z'n tweeën blijven we actief :')
We hadden de vorige keer afgesproken dat we allebei met Fimo zouden werken. Iets dat we beiden meestal mijden omdat we het lastig vinden (a)
Jolinda ging gebakken eitjes makken voor in de koekenpan op haar fornuis en ik besloot een pizza te maken. 

Last week Jolinda and I have been crafting together again. Unfortunately, Connie isn't able to participate anymore, but the two of us will continue to make miniatures :')

Last time we'd agreed that we were going to work with Fimo. Something we both usually avoid because we find it a bit difficult (a)

Jolinda went to make fried eggs for the frying pan on her stove and I decided to make a pizza.

I used this tutorial by Maive Ferrando.

The next day I added details with pastels
and started making the next pizza :)

This weekend I made a round wooden
cutting board. I might give it another
(better) try but I wanted to take a
photo for the blog ^^

We vonden het allebei onverwachts leuk zo'n middagje kleien en waren beiden tevreden met het resultaat dus hebben we besloten volgende maand opnieuw met de Fimo aan de slag te gaan.

To our surprise we both liked working with Fimo and were both satisfied with the result, so we decided to do it again next month.

Making a sink unit for the cottage kitchen

 

Een paar maanden geleden was ik begonnen met het maken van een aanrechtkastje volgens de beschrijvingen van Julie Warren. Ik heb de aanrechtkastje uit de boeken Creating Dolls' House Kitchens in 1/12th Scale en Step by Step Dolls' House Furniture Projects in 1/12th Scale gecombineerd omdat ik het op deze manier het leukst vond.
Het kostte wel iets meer tijd om het e.e.a. uit te puzzelen en om te rekenen, maar ik ben erg blij met het resultaat.

A few months ago I'd started making a sink unit from tutorials by Julie Warren. I combined two units from the books  Creating Dolls' House Kitchens in 1/12th Scale en Step by Step Dolls' House Furniture Projects in 1/12th Scale to get one I liked best.
It took some extra time to figure it out and calculate it, but I'm very happy with the result.

Op de beurs in Rijswijk had ik het mooie kraantje en de ladeknoppen gekocht bij 't Tafereeltje. In de week erna had ik een knutselmiddag met Jolinda en heb ik de knoppen gebeitst en de kraan bevestigd.
Toen enkel nog een gordijntje maken van een leuk stofje dat ik bij Minidoor was tegengekomen en het aanrechtblok was klaar. In de toekomst wil ik nog een afwassopje maken :)

At the fair in Rijswijk I'd bought a beautiful tap and drawer knobs at 't Tafereeltje. The following week Jolinda and I had a craft afternoon so I stained the knobs and attached the tap then.

The only thing left to do was to make a little curtain from some nice fabric that I'd come across at Minidoor and then the countertop was ready.

Fair in Rijswijk - May 2022

Het is meer dan een half jaar geleden dat ik een blog schreef. Een vrij pittig half jaar waardoor ik weinig tijd, maar vooral weinig motivatie had om te knutselen.
Maar afgelopen weekend kon ik na tweeëneenhalf jaar eindelijk weer eens naar een miniaturenbeurs en als er iets is dat motiveert en inspireert dan is het dat wel ;)

It's been over six months since I wrote a blog. It's been a tough couple of months, so I had little time, but especially little motivation, to craft.
But last weekend, after two and a half years, I was finally able to go to a miniatures fair again and if there is anything that will motivates and inspires me, it is that ;)

Gezellig zaterdagmorgen met Jolinda meegereden naar Rijswijk. Eerst alleen een rondje langs de stands gedaan en om half twaalf arriveerde San en hebben we samen door alle rijen geslenterd en genoten van alle mooie dingen die we zagen.

On Saturday morning I rode along with Jolinda to Rijswijk. I started walking along the outer rows until San arrived at half past eleven and we strolled through all the rows together and enjoyed all the beautiful things we saw.

Aanstaande donderdag gaan Jolinda en ik weer samen knutselen en ik heb genoeg om mee aan de slag te gaan ;)
Gordijntjes maken of de deurknopjes beitsen. De kraan bevestigen of gewoon verder met het maken van meubelen om alle potten in te zetten.

Next Thursday Jolinda and I will be going to craft together again and I have enough to choose from ;)
Making curtains or staining the doorknobs. Fixing the faucet or just continue making furniture to store all the pots and jars.

Hogwarts robe for Penny and crafting together (August)

When Jolinda, Connie and I had our monthly crafting afternoon in August, I started on a Hogwarts school robe for Penny.
When I'd done a Griffinfor robe a few years back I'd saved the pattern and even had cut the part for future robes.

I had somehow forgotten that Penny is smaller than a grown up wizard so she nearly drowned in my first attempt ;)

So, I addapted the pattern and started again.

Penny kept an eye on the whole process and couldn't wait.

The lining confirms the fact that Penny is a little Hufflepuf ;)

It still needs a crest and a fastener but we were both happy with how the robe has turned out.

Summer swap (garden shed) and a bit crafting together (July ^^)

I'm away behind with showing you the new stuff
I've made, so let's try to catch up :')

While crafting together with Jolinda and Connie
I worked on a chives plant. Another diy-kit 
from De Hobbyshop I'd bought through OMINIS.

I finished it the next day. Not that realistic
up close, but cute nontheless :)

Connie had surprised Jolinda and me with a homemade present. We
told her she should save it for our birthday swaps, but she didn't
want to ;) She has made us both a sewing kit box and a monopoly
game. I'm sure Penny will love to play Monopoly with her mother ^^

Kim and I'd agreed to do a summerswap 
 and I started working on it in June.

It was a tutorial from the DHN magazine and
I've made it with Balsa and stained it teak.

Made a couple of new flower pots because I liked
 doing them and tried to make bigger ones.

The terracotta pots are one of my favourites.

Though I liked these pots and jug even more :)

I tried to vary with different colors and structures.

Another favourite. Love cobalt blue :)

I'd also made a couple of metal signs for Kim,
featuring Harry Potter shops.
