Fair in Hardinxveld-Giessendam - March 2025

De beurs in Hardinxveld-Giessendam afgelopen oktober was goed bevallen, dus afgelopen zaterdag zijn Jolinda en ik, samen met Jolinda's zus, opnieuw geweest.
Het was een gezellige dag en ik kwam weer thuis met leuke en mooie dingen. Hopelijk inspireert dat genoeg om weer wat vaker te gaan knutselen :') 

The fair in Hardinxveld-Giessendam last October went well, so this past Saturday, Jolinda and I, together with Jolinda's sister, went again.
It was a lovely day, and I came home with some nice and beautiful things. Hopefully, that will be enough to inspire me to craft more often again :')

Houtenkralen unfortunately is going to stop at the end of the
year, so I’ve bought a variety of beads and spindles to stock up.

At a fair, I’m always on the lookout for leave punches
that I don’t have yet. This time, I even found two.

And last but not least, I bought a bunch of boxes
for next to nothing, wig hair in a lovely shade of
silvergray and an old lady who will probably get a
place on the terrace of the Italian bistro. 

Fair in Hardinxveld-Giessendam - October 2024

Al tweeëneenhalf jaar niet naar een beurs geweest, al een jaar geen blog geschreven en ook weinig geknutseld afgezien van de maandelijkse middagen met Jolinda.
Maar gisteren samen met haar naar een (voor ons) nieuwe beurs in Hardinxveld-Giessendam geweest en daar weer heel veel inspiratie en miniaturen mee vandaan genomen ;)
Ik vond het een hele leuke, gezellige beurs, met veel bekende, maar (voor mij) ook nieuwe, gezichten en heel veel moois om te bekijken en je aan te verlekkeren.

Hieronder een kleine impressie:

I haven't been to a fair for two and a half years, haven't written a blog for over a year and haven't done much crafting too, apart from the monthly afternoons with Jolinda.
But yesterday I went with her to a new (for us) fair in Hardinxveld-Giessendam and took a lot of inspiration and miniatures home ;)
I thought it was a very nice, pleasant fair, with many familiar, but (for me) also new, faces and lots of beautiful things to look at and be tempted by.

Over anderhalve week gaan Jolinda en ik weer samen knutselen en ik heb genoeg om mee aan de slag te gaan ;)

In a week and a half Jolinda and I will be going to craft together again and I have enough to choose from ;)

Making a sink unit for the cottage kitchen

 

Een paar maanden geleden was ik begonnen met het maken van een aanrechtkastje volgens de beschrijvingen van Julie Warren. Ik heb de aanrechtkastje uit de boeken Creating Dolls' House Kitchens in 1/12th Scale en Step by Step Dolls' House Furniture Projects in 1/12th Scale gecombineerd omdat ik het op deze manier het leukst vond.
Het kostte wel iets meer tijd om het e.e.a. uit te puzzelen en om te rekenen, maar ik ben erg blij met het resultaat.

A few months ago I'd started making a sink unit from tutorials by Julie Warren. I combined two units from the books  Creating Dolls' House Kitchens in 1/12th Scale en Step by Step Dolls' House Furniture Projects in 1/12th Scale to get one I liked best.
It took some extra time to figure it out and calculate it, but I'm very happy with the result.

Op de beurs in Rijswijk had ik het mooie kraantje en de ladeknoppen gekocht bij 't Tafereeltje. In de week erna had ik een knutselmiddag met Jolinda en heb ik de knoppen gebeitst en de kraan bevestigd.
Toen enkel nog een gordijntje maken van een leuk stofje dat ik bij Minidoor was tegengekomen en het aanrechtblok was klaar. In de toekomst wil ik nog een afwassopje maken :)

At the fair in Rijswijk I'd bought a beautiful tap and drawer knobs at 't Tafereeltje. The following week Jolinda and I had a craft afternoon so I stained the knobs and attached the tap then.

The only thing left to do was to make a little curtain from some nice fabric that I'd come across at Minidoor and then the countertop was ready.

Fair in Rijswijk - May 2022

Het is meer dan een half jaar geleden dat ik een blog schreef. Een vrij pittig half jaar waardoor ik weinig tijd, maar vooral weinig motivatie had om te knutselen.
Maar afgelopen weekend kon ik na tweeëneenhalf jaar eindelijk weer eens naar een miniaturenbeurs en als er iets is dat motiveert en inspireert dan is het dat wel ;)

It's been over six months since I wrote a blog. It's been a tough couple of months, so I had little time, but especially little motivation, to craft.
But last weekend, after two and a half years, I was finally able to go to a miniatures fair again and if there is anything that will motivates and inspires me, it is that ;)

Gezellig zaterdagmorgen met Jolinda meegereden naar Rijswijk. Eerst alleen een rondje langs de stands gedaan en om half twaalf arriveerde San en hebben we samen door alle rijen geslenterd en genoten van alle mooie dingen die we zagen.

On Saturday morning I rode along with Jolinda to Rijswijk. I started walking along the outer rows until San arrived at half past eleven and we strolled through all the rows together and enjoyed all the beautiful things we saw.

Aanstaande donderdag gaan Jolinda en ik weer samen knutselen en ik heb genoeg om mee aan de slag te gaan ;)
Gordijntjes maken of de deurknopjes beitsen. De kraan bevestigen of gewoon verder met het maken van meubelen om alle potten in te zetten.

Next Thursday Jolinda and I will be going to craft together again and I have enough to choose from ;)
Making curtains or staining the doorknobs. Fixing the faucet or just continue making furniture to store all the pots and jars.

Crafting together (November) - Santa project

Since crafting together in October I have done quite a bit by myself and the same goes for Jolinda. Again it was just the two of us last week so we started showing what we'd done so far :)

I had ordered some fabric for the waistcoat at Minidoor, as well as viscose hair fiber for Santa's wig and chenille to add fur trim to his clothes.

I went with the red fabric since everything
else would be red and/or white too.

The 'onesie' was the most difficult pattern to redesign :') 
The stockings however were easier then I thought.

He won't be wearing his coat, trousers and hat,
they will just be hanging on the back of the chair.

While Jolinda was here we both worked on the coat for our 

own Santa. And later that afternoon I made the hat.

I got some white velour to use as 

faux fur trim and finished the hat :)

So, Santa is progressing nicely. He obviously needs a new chair and some 

other props, but I don't have to worry about not finishing him in time for 

Christmas ;) That's probably why it didn't take Jolinda long to make me 

eager about joining Thea's Advents Calendar this year (a) It has been awhile, 

and having another project to focus on in December seems like a good thing 

during this semi lockdown :') I've already dusted off this roombox I'd bought 

a few years ago in Rijswijk, so I'm ready to go! :)
